Sunshine Brady & The Moonlight Lady performing "Mikayla Louise"

Ryan & Becca at Guitars Unplugged October 2008! This video is from Adam's camera.

video

Here is Adam's write-up on the event:

Saturday morning Mikayla and I said good bye to Tanya and Jessica as we headed out the door. Destination- Rexburg, Idaho.

My youngest sibs. Ryan and Becca aka “Sunshine Brady and Moonlight Lady” were to take the stage on Saturday night for the guitars unplugged best of show. While living with grandma Hayes, Ryan had written a song entitled Mikayla Louise wherein he asserts the fact that “it aint easy to please my Mikayla Louise”. Combine his fast finger guitar playing, humorous lyrics and reliable singing abilities with Beccas riveting stage presence and seemingly limitless vocal range… they were a no brainer when the judges sat down to put together the best of show. We were on our way to see them.

We joined up with my folks, my sis. Rachel, and her two girls Eve and Emma for a road trip. We weren’t headed for gilligan’s island but we were on a “three hour tour”.

Mikayla was something of a celebrity when people found out that she was the inspiration for Ryan’s song. We had a good time and enjoyed being with our friends and family in Rexburg.

I am sending some pics of Jessica, and some from our weekend adventure.

I am working on getting the performance onto the internet, I’ll let you know where you can go to check it out.

Poems from Adam

Hayes Family Future

It was Thanksgiving one year hence.
We were all in a house with a white picket fence
The great room was twice as big as we needed
And I distinctly recall us all being seated
Grandpa at the head with grandmother dear
And every Hayes family bigger this year
Each uncle and aunt in remarkable health
Passed around hundreds of dollars in wealth
Cousins with smiles much brighter this year
Accepted the bills with eyes full of cheer
The turkey was carved and we bowed to give thanks
And as I looked up- one was gone from our ranks
Yes, someone was gone though I couldn’t say who
I think it was me or it could have been you
My memory of that day seems to be growing fuzzy
But grandpa was there, on second thought, was he?
Well, that’s all in the future now so let’s live in the present
And try extra hard to make our memories pleasant

Can You Believe that Airport Guard?

Amy sat on the plane with a nervous gut turning
Feeling the engine should surely be burning
I drove to the airport nervous as well
Knowing the airport was busy as hell
The plane came in smoothly; its wheels touched the pavement
We both had arrived just the way we arranged it
Then came a call, “See you soon, we’re just docking”
A Policeman pursued me to discourage car blocking
He forced me to drive the airport circuit at least a dozen times
And threatened to give me jail time and fines
DORK.

Rexburg Update

James, Ryan and I only have 3 weeks left of school!

Ryan and I have ben preforming some of our songs and we are pretty famous up here in Rexburg. Many people ask us to play at real gigs. Maybe we'll decide to do it.

Love you family!
